As part of my work with the Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society of BC (SSISBC), I was honoured to contribute to visual and written storytelling that centers the experiences, resilience, and healing of Survivors. My role included on-site photography, photo editing, and content creation for use on their official website and digital platforms.

This project required a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach—balancing documentation with deep respect for Survivors’ stories and the sacredness of space.

Objectives:

Visually represent the strength and presence of Sixties Scoop Survivors
Create authentic, high-quality content that supports SSISBC’s mission
Contribute online presence that is community-rooted, healing-focused, and educational

Key Responsibilities:

Captured event t photography during SSISBC gatherings

Contributed to content copy for web and social media, including:

Informative pieces about the Sixties Scoop and ongoing healing work
Promotional content for events and initiatives
Collaborated with SSISBC staff to ensure content was accurate
